Making Stress My Friend-TED Videos


Kelly McGonigal is a health psychologist who has been researching stress and the effects of stress. She discusses how stress leads to many diseases, and sometimes even death. However, people who believe that stress is bad for their health, have a higher chance of dying due to stress. So the key to not be as stressed is to look at stress in a positive way. McGonigal says to look at stress as something that benefits our body. It was really interesting for to listen to because as a high school senior, I am VERY stressed. With homework, sports, and other activities i am involved in, I am constantly worried about all that is on my plate. So it was helpful to hear that my stress will lessen if I don't look at it in a negative way.
